Franklin D. roosevelt

Franklin D. Roosevelt or FDR he was sometimes called was born in 1882 at Hyde Park New York. He attended Harvard uiversity and Columbia Law school. On St. Patricks day 1905 he married Anna Elanor Roosevelt. As a Democrat he won the election to New York Senate in 1910. Later President Wilson had appointed him the Assistant Secretary of the Navy. In 1920 he was the Democratic nominee for Vice President. In 1921 at the age of 39 he was diagnosed with poliomyelitis; he fought to remain using his legs. In the 1924 Democratic convention, while on crutches, he nominated Alfred E. Smith as "the happy warrior". In 1928 Franklin D. Roosevelt became the Governer of New York.
