Abraham Lincoln

Abe Lincoln was born on Febuary 12 ,1809. He was born in Hardon County, Kentucky.

His mother died at the age of 10 and he became meloncholy for a time after this. He thought that secession was illegal and he was willing to use force to defend federal law and also the union. abe lincoln as a young manWhen Fort Sumter had to surrender he had called the states for 75,000 volunteers. Four slave states joined the confeteracy while four remained with the union and the civil war had erupted. Abe Lincoln was the son of a kentucky frontiersman he had very little schooling. He tried very hard to attain knowledge. He also kept a store in New Salem, Illinois. He was a captain in the Blackhawk war and spent eight years of his life in the Illinois legislature. He later married Mary Todd and they had four boy children but only one of them survived until maturity.
